Dracaena Trifasciata, better known as the snake plant, is one of the most popular and hardy species of houseplant. The plant has strong, sword-like leaves ranging in length from two to three inches [6-8 cm]. Snake plants can vary in color; however, many have green leaves and tend to form a yellow border. These plants are easy to grow and, in many cases, virtually indestructible. They will thrive in very bright light or almost in the dark corners of the house. These plants usually grow slowly in indoors with the low light of the house, but increasing their exposure to the direct sunlight will improve their growth. If you are planting or replanting, do it in the spring.
